Practice of the Month: rules

Last updated: 18 October 2026. Plain-English rules for our monthly community practice competition.

In short: share your best practice from inside Tactix Board. Every month we pick the one we think is best and the coach who made it wins a free month of Pro. It's free to enter, there's no purchase needed, and the winner is chosen on merit, not at random. Good entries may be added to the practice library for every coach to use, credited to you if you'd like.

1. Who runs it

The promoter is Dawson Consulting (DC) Ltd, trading as Tactix Board, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11206889), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ. Contact: [email protected].

2. Who can enter

Anyone aged 13 or over living in the United Kingdom with a Tactix Board account (Free or Pro). If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian's permission first.
Entry is free. You don't need to buy anything or have a paid plan to enter or to win.
Employees and directors of the promoter, and their immediate families, can't win.

3. How to enter

Build your practice on a board in Tactix Board, then choose Submit practice (in Sessions or the Practice library). Fill in the short form and tick the consent box.
Each entry includes the board as it is when you submit it (positions, frames, drawings and notes) and the details you type into the form.
You can submit up to 5 practices per calendar month (UK time). Each one is judged separately.
Each month runs from the 1st to the last day of the month. Entries count towards the month they are received in.

4. How the winner is chosen

At the end of each month the Tactix Board team judges that month's entries and picks one winner.
We judge on: how clear and well-organised the practice is; whether it suits the age group; quality of the coaching points and progressions; originality; and how useful it would be to other coaches.
Our decision is final. We'll explain how we judged if you ask. If no entries meet a reasonable standard in a month, we may decide not to award a prize that month.

5. The prize

One free month (31 days) of Tactix Board Pro, added to the winner's account.
If you already have free Pro from us, the month is added to the end of it. If you pay for Pro, we'll add a month's credit or extend your plan by a month. We'll contact you to sort out the simplest way.
There is no cash alternative, and the prize can't be transferred. We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if we have to.

6. How winners are told

We'll email the winner at the email address on their Tactix Board account within 14 days of the end of the month. With the winner's agreement we may also show their name (the credit name they gave) and their practice in the app and on our website.

7. Your practice and our licence to use it

By entering you confirm the practice is your own work (or you have permission to share it) and doesn't copy anyone else's material.
You keep ownership of your practice. You grant Dawson Consulting (DC) Ltd a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to edit, adapt, publish and include it in Tactix Board (including the practice library, our website, guides and promotional material). "Non-exclusive" means you are still free to use and share your practice anywhere else.
Whether or not you win, we may publish any entry in the practice library. If you ticked "credit me by name", we'll show the name you gave. If you didn't, we'll show it as shared by a Tactix Board coach.
We may edit entries for clarity, length or safety, or to fit the library's format.
Please don't include real players' full names or any personal details in a submitted board. We may remove anything like that before publishing.
If you'd like a published practice of yours removed later, email us and we'll take it out of the library within a reasonable time. This doesn't affect copies coaches have already saved.

8. Your data

We store your entry with your account so we can judge it, contact you if you win, and credit you. See our privacy note for details.

9. Changes and the small print

We may change, suspend or end the competition, or these rules, if we have a good reason (for example misuse or circumstances beyond our control). We'll give notice on this page and won't change the rules for a month that has already closed.
We may disqualify entries that break these rules, are offensive or unsafe, or that we reasonably think are not the entrant's own work.
Nothing in these rules affects your statutory rights. These rules are governed by the law of England and Wales.
